For the blocks to be made
- The wood was measured and cut to the appropriate size for nine
- Next each was sanded on the disc sander
- Then metal pieces in the shapes of x's and o's were heated up then pushed onto each block, to burn in the symbol
- Finally they were given an oil finish
The Blocks
The frame was all glued together so next the center bars were made.
- First measuring the distance between each opposite slot
- Then cutting it to the length measured
- See if it fit and if it didn't, sand of bits and chisels of chucks there
- When it all fit, it was glue together with the frame
- Then it was all sanded on the belt sander to made all the joints the same height and to make it all nice and flat
- The bottom was glued and nailed on after
- Finally an oil finish was coated on
